Patch Notes – 0.44 Update

We’re excited to share our latest update for Camelot Unchained, including a bevy of bug fixes, archetype and class balances, and tweaks to the way you interact with the game world. Players will now find Protection Zones around portals that prevent combat or hostile abilities, greatly reducing the risk of spawn camping. Player collision has been removed from the city on each Home Island in order to make navigating crafting stations easier. Additionally, we’ve also overhauled the Veil shader to be less intrusive and more visually clear, while still maintaining the same aesthetic approach that we want for the Veil – a hostile, foreign space. On the UI side, players can expect to see our first pass on the game’s quest log, as well as a much greater level of detail with class statistics on the Character Info page.

We are aware of issues related to Points of Interest locking players from capturing them and recurring Party UI bugs. We believe that we have fixes for both of these issues, but they won’t be present in this build. Thank you for your help in diagnosing these issues and your continued bug reports – they really do make a difference!

World Changes and Balance

  • Added “safe” zones around portals that prevent combat and damage.
  • Removed player to player collision around cities on the Home Islands.
  • Added initial draft of the Quest Log menu.

Class Changes and Balance

General

  • Updated all party buffs to only apply to party members within 90 meters.
  • Added more in depth character statistics to the character info page.

Heavy Fighters

  • Fianna – Increased the damage reflection from their passive Thorn Growth from 5% to 9%.
  • Black Knight – Increased Magic damage reduction from their passive Disbelief from 10% to 12%.
  • Mjolnir – Reduced damage reduction from their passive Strength of Wotan from 2.5% per stack to 2% per stack.

Healers

  • Empath – Increased the range at which Friendly and Hostile Links break from 30m to 45m.

Assassins

  • Fixed a bug preventing Enter Veil from working correctly.
  • Improved the timing on Enter Veil animation and effect.
    Veilstalker
    • Reduced the base damage of Blade of the Veil and increased the bonus damage while in the Veil from 20% to 40%.
    • Reduced the damage taken increase of Veilmark from 25% to 20% while not in the Veil and from 35% to 30% while in the Veil.

Performers

  • Dark Fool
    • Slightly reduced the damage of Dark Comedy.
    • Reduced the damage increase of And Our Hero Falls! from 60% to 45%.
    • Reduced the damage over time of Look Upon Oblivion.
  • Minstrel
    • Reduced the Critical Hit Rating granted by Staccato Rhythm from 25 to 20 and the Critical Damage
    • Multiplier from 25% to 18%.
    • Reduced the Physical Armor Rating granted by Resolute March from 45 to 40.

Devouts

  • Abbots
    • Increased the Physical and Magical Armor Rating granted by Zeal from 8% per stack to 10%.

Build Updates

Visual Changes

  • Overhauled the Veil shader to be less intrusive and more accessible for users prone to headaches from prior effects. While the Veil shaders are not finalized, we believe this should help reduce a lot of the pain points players have mentioned with the Veil.

Audio

New and Updated

  • Updated ambient emitters, SFX and voice prioritization for Yggdra, Silvermine Mountains, Camelot Hills and all Home Islands.
  • Added new Zone Teleporter SFX.
  • Added Footstep SFX for NPCs.
  • Updated SFX for the Blackguard.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug preventing Odin Sees Our Deeds from being used while under Control Effects
  • Fixed a bug preventing Dedicated Pursuit from applying its Movement Speed buff.
  • Fixed a tool tip that prevented the additional health bonus from showing on some armors.
  • Fixed a bug preventing healing or buffing allies who are in combat from placing you in combat.
  • Fixed A Grand Tragedy (Dark Fool) not working
  • Fixed Death by a Thousand Cuts (Dark Fool) not working
  • Fixed Abbot’s passive ability not working.
  • Fixed Helbound’s passive ability not working.
  • Fixed a bug causing Helbound’s Life Transfer to not check line of sight or range requirements.
  • Fixed Spore Cloud (Forest Stalker) not working.
  • Fixed Decapitation Strike (Assassin) not working correctly.
  • Fixed newly unlocked abilities missing permissions.
    • Some affected abilities could be used while moving when they shouldn’t have been able to.
  • Fixed ground Targeting bugs
    • Movement no longer interrupts aiming ground targeted abilities.
    • Ground targeted abilities no longer go on cooldown when interrupted while casting.
  • Fixed a bug causing some AoEs to not select the correct targets
    • AoEs that are centered on your target now prioritize hitting entities closest to the target rather than entities closest to the caster
  • Fixed a bug causing Arcane Sigils to still be created when an ability is interrupted.
  • Fixed a bug causing debuff duration reduction not to apply
  • Fixed a bug causing Forbidden Pact‘s Health and Mana loss to trigger when gathering.
  • Fixed a bug causing the bonus damage from Avatar of Bran to apply to non-melee hits.
  • Fixed a bug where certain party buffs would keep you in combat perpetually.
  • Fixed a bug preventing players from trading crafting materials, which were incorrectly requiring unpayable taxes.
  • Fixed a bug for hunting nodes not dropping multiple resources.
