Folks,
Our latest patch for CU, Update 0.47, is here. With this patch, we’re introducing item drops from enemy mobs, changes to gathering and crafting experience, as well as tweaks to the formula for Class Progression. Additionally, players can expect to see visual overhauls throughout Silvermine Mountains and Yggdra Forest. This is in addition to performance and quality of life improvements to various UI elements, as well as some bug fixes and tweaks to class abilities.
The first big change we’re making to how gathering works is introducing a better curve to leveling these skills, which should make the first several levels go by much more quickly, with the higher levels taking slightly more time to get through.
To speak a bit more to the future plans for gathering, we intend to introduce various bands of leveled nodes at different PoIs, which means implementing more nodes with level requirements. These higher level nodes will have higher XP yield and provide a higher quantity of resources. In the future, these nodes will also include higher quality of resources. This will make the leveling curve feel even better.
With regards to the Class Progression system, we’ve heard your feedback on the current rate at which you earn experience. The existing methods to level up (through ability usage) serve as a placeholder that we have plans to iterate on in the near future, including different and more intuitive methods of gaining experience. As an example, in the future you’ll earn experience from enemies killed both in PvP and PvE, as well as from Points of Interest that you capture. In the meantime, we hope that the newly added boost to XP when fighting other players will encourage utilizing RvR as a means of leveling, rather than something to do once you’ve already hit max level. In addition to these changes, we expect to increase the speed of low level experience gain in a future update, to make the first five levels move more quickly and get you introduced to more of your class abilities without having to feel like you’re stuck in a grind.
A point of focus in this update is the continued beautification of our existing zones in the world of CU, courtesy of our art team. In Update 0.47, both Yggdra Forest and Silvermine Mountains received updates to their biomes which should help make them feel more lived in, less empty, and provide increased diversity of terrain to battle around. This is an ongoing process for our art team, and you can expect to see continual progress in making the battlefield more vibrant.

We’re excited for you to check out what we’ve added with Update 0.47, and we’re hard at work behind the scenes at adding even more to the game. Your continued bug reports and feedback are monumentally helpful in shaping how we build Camelot Unchained, and we can’t thank you enough for your support. We’ll see you in-game!
World Changes and Balance
- Mobs may now drop small items and resources for players to collect.
- Bandits, trolls, zombies, and goblins all drop loot. We look forward to hearing your feedback on this addition so we can continue to iterate upon it.
- Items that may drop include low amounts of Barbel, Cod, Stringy Meat, Herbs, Garlic, Barley, Coal, Salt, Silver Nugget, or Copper Fragment.
- Major update to gathering XP curve and hunting loot.
- Gathering XP curves have been adjusted. The new curve should make the initial lower levels much faster to get through. We’re intending to add extra nodes to Points of Interest in the near future as well, which should reduce the moments where you’re stuck waiting while gathering reagents.
- Class Progression experience will now be gained at double the previous rate when using abilities against other players and when in RvR combat.
- We’ve heard your feedback on the current rate of experience gained with the new Class Progression system. The existing ways to gain experience serve as a placeholder that we have plans to iterate on in the near future, including different methods of gaining experience. As an example, you’ll earn experience from enemies killed and Points of Interest that you capture. In the meantime, we hope the boost to XP when fighting other players will encourage utilizing RvR as a means of leveling, rather than something to do once you’ve already hit max level.
- In addition to these changes, we expect to increase the speed of low level experience gain in a future update.
